About Us
Our story.
Loving and serving God together since 2002
Seed Planted
When Emiliano Guevara, immigrant pastor from the Philippines, came to San Diego in 1989, he envisioned a church that would reach and minister to people of all nations. A little over a decade later, this vision was passed down to a small group of young adults. With a shared passion to reach others for Christ and to help those believers cultivate their personal experiences in the Lord through sound doctrine and acts of service, Pacific Lighthouse was born.
Humble Growth
At a pivotal time in his life, after renewing his commitment to the Lord, and with the blessing of his home church, Pastor Ronald Magno decided to pioneer a church in the Mira Mesa/ Rancho Penasquitos/ Scripps Ranch area of San Diego. Together with his brother Jun, good friend John Horst, and a few close friends, they officially began Pacific Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in January 2002. For its first decade, Pacific Lighthouse emphasized growth and laying the foundation of the Church’s fellowship and teachings while providing support for missionary work both domestically and worldwide.
By 2011, Pastor Ronald expressed his desire to step down and to pursue full time mission work through He Intends Victory Ministries, a ministry focused on reaching those infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. He later began ministering to the homeless and LGBTQ+ community at Hope Restored Church in Hillcrest. During that time, Pastor Jun stepped in as interim pastor and fully transitioned in August 2011 as the Lead Pastor of Pacific Lighthouse. Under Pastor Jun, Pacific Lighthouse entered its second decade. With Pastor Jun’s sound and expositional approach to teaching the Bible, the Church has helped many to better understand the Word of God and apply its principles to their daily lives. The Church also continues to support efforts in spreading the gospel through missions.
Looking Ahead
As Pacific Lighthouse enters its third decade, the Church is also focused on passing on its core values, discipleship, and servitude heart to the next generation while continuing to equip them with sound and defensible doctrine to face this challenging world. We look forward to the triumphs in adversities as we witness God’s continued work in our church family.
